After 15 years in SoHo, The Puffin Room is closing its doors. It is one of my favorite venues in New York City, so I am truly sad to see it go. I will miss its luminosity, high ceilings, intimacy and charm. Several of us are performing on Saturday including Bill Young with Colleen Thomas, Mana Hashimoto, Delirious Dances, the GoGo’s and more.
I'm performing a structured Improvisation inspired by Yvonne Rainer, Noam Chomsky, Mantovani & His Orchestra and fists full of underwear. It features the stellar cast of Cristal Albornoz, Melissa Guerrero, Renata Hinrichs, Jenni Hong, Solomon Matea, Jonathan Miles, and Tara Wills.
I hope you can join us in celebrating and remembering the wonder that is/was the Puffin Room. Watch a dance, bring a song to dance to and create your own dance. It is a PAARRTTYYY!
